Downward Departures and Alternative Sentencing:
We are available to assess any clients referred to us from private attorneys, the Public Defender or the Courts. If we determine that the client suffers from the disease of Alcoholism or Addiction, we will make recommendations to the Court for Alternative sentencing, including treatment and other therapeutic options in lieu of incarceration where appropriate.
Who Can Go to Drug Court?
Domestic Violence Injunctions:
We will assist and facilitate the process of obtaining a domestic violence injunction. We will be there for the victim from the beginning until the end, attending all necessary hearings and court dates. We will give guidance and moral support. One of our staff attorneys will be available for any legal representation.
Marchman Acts:
We will assist and support petitioners in Marchman Act proceedings to ensure that their loved ones are given the treatment that they need. The Marchman Act is for substance abusers who refuse to voluntarily seek treatment. We will support the Petitoner's actions to obtain court-ordered treatment for the Respondent. We will continue to monitor the situation and attend all court hearings. If an extension on treatment time is necessary, we will do everything possible to ensure that the Respondent gets this.
Court Liaison Services:
We will monitor and report to the court on behalf of whichever treatment facility the Client is placed in, giving the required status reports to the Court on attendance and compliance.
All Criminal Cases:
We are familiar with all criminal court proceedings. All representation will be handled by a licensed attorney. Among our preferred attorneys are former Prosecutors, Public Defenders and State Legislators. We will work closely with the attorney to ensure the best interest of the client is served.
