Mr. Schlam worked at Spectrum Programs, a not-for-profit Treatment Center as a Counselor in many different capacities while studying to become a Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJAP) in the State of Florida . He then drew on all his past wealth of experience and knowledge of both the Criminal Justice system and Addictions to form AdvoCare Solutions, Inc..

Mr. Schlam has also served as Co-Chair of the Broward County Re-entry Coalition, where he advocated for the rights of ex-offenders. He is active and outspoken in the community and frequently writes articles advocating for those suffering from Alcoholism and Addiction.
